Caring for Your Children

Nursery
We run a fun and educational programme for our children within the nursery, with a 1:4 child/staff ratio.

The children’s daily routines from home are continued throughout their time at B4 Five Childcare. This is to ensure that we foster each child’s emotional development in a way  they feel comfortable and settled within our environment.

In between bottles, lunch, nap or rest times, are fun opportunities for the children to participate in outdoor play, bikes, sandpit, painting, water play, messy play, books, puzzles walks or trips within our community.

These activities are all intended to increase our children’s social, exploratory, physical and intellectual development. It is also important for young children to begin to develop the skills necessary for appropriate turn-taking, sharing and offering of toys and play-space.

Educators also observe the children and plan activities throughout the week from the children’s strengths/interests. These all link to the NZ curriculum document - Te Whariki, and form the basis of our day-to-day planning.

Over Two’s Centre

The Over Two’s centre is a busy and exciting environment with lots of group activities happening. We have three groups; Toddlers (2 - 2.6yrs), Kiwi’s (2.6- 3.7yrs) and Tuataras (3.7 - 5yrs). These groups have age and stage appropriate activities planned for them daily and consistent teachers work specifically with each group.

We concentrate on children learning to be independent learners at B4 Five Childcare. Children enjoy a choice of activities and working in small groups.

We have a 1:7 child/staff ratio, so there is plenty of time to spend talking to children and enjoying cuddles. Our staff cater for individual children by collecting observations of children, and planning for their needs. All  children have a profile book that tells the story of their development while at B4 Five Childcare.

We believe in creating a fun and stimulating environment for your child to learn and grow in.
